The range was revealed following an announcement that Windows 10 has been installed on 110 million machines.
The Surface Book is a top-end machine which can be used as a laptop or as a particularly large tablet by removing the 13.5in 267ppi screen. The firm refers to the latter as ‘Clipboard’ mode.
It includes sixth-generation Intel Skylake processors, an Nvidia GeForce GPU, GDDR5 RAM, two USB 3.0 ports, a backlit keyboard, a 12-hour battery and machined magnesium case.
Microsoft claims it to be “ounce for ounce, the fastest 13in laptop ever made”, and that it can perform up to twice as fast as the 2015 MacBook Pro. However, it doesn’t come cheap, starting at $1,499 when it launches on 26 October.
The 5.2 inch Lumia 950 and 5.7 inch Lumia 950 XL were also confirmed, both packing the Windows 10 Mobile OS, 20MP rear cameras, 32GB of internal storage, up to 256GB microSD support, liquid cooling and a USB-C port, which can supposedly charge the batteries to 50 percent in 30 minutes.
The Lumia 950 will feature an unnamed hexa-core Qualcomm processor plus a 564ppi OLED display. The Lumia 950 includes an octa-core Qualcomm processor and a 518ppi OLED display.
