Microsoft has added an extra model to its Surface line of Windows tablets, described as the thinnest and lightest Surface yet and coming in at a more affordable price than the existing Surface Pro 3.
Available to pre-order now, the Surface 3 is based on an Intel Atom processor and features a 10.8in Full HD touchscreen with a starting weight of just 622g. It is ideal for students, schools, mobile professionals, or anyone looking for a portable device to get things done, according to Microsoft.
The Surface 3 is effectively a slightly smaller and less powerful version of the Surface Pro 3, which launched last year. Like its bigger sibling, the Surface 3 can support an optional digital stylus for pen input or a snap-on Type Cover keyboard to enable it to be used like a laptop.
